12:21PM - Baking . . . or why 2 pizza pans may not be enough.

It's Christmassy time, and with that comes a lot of tasty baking. This year, my baking line-up has included old favorites like Mexican Wedding Cakes, recent new favorites like Oreo Truffles, and newly discovered amazing cookies like Peanut Butter Chip Chocolate Cookies.  Also, I've made bread, both a regular white bread loaf, and a cinnamon loaf.  And, because I'm married to Ben, I'm quickly learning how to make homemade pizza.  Ben LOVES pizza. I have never seen anyone able to eat as much pizza as he can!  And he's not too picky about which kind either, although I think his pizza passion is really for homemade pizza.  Before we were married, when he first moved out to Ohio, he bought a pizza pan and a pizza slicer before he bought a pot to boil water in or a can opener.  Seriously.

We got one pizza pan for our wedding, and Ben had the one he bought before we got married, but I think those two may not be enough.  We made two pizzas last night, and Ben ate about half of one, and would probably finish them off for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if he could.  Seriously, I've never met anyone who can eat this much pizza!

But anyway, here is what I've learned so far about pizza making.
1.  You need to have yeast that is not expired.  This is vital. :)
2. The dough is more dense than bread dough.
3. Rolling dough into a perfect circle is nigh unto impossible.
4. It would probably be good to cook the crust first for about 5 minutes, before you put the toppings on, or you're going to have some burning cheese.
5. Ragu pizza sauce tastes awesome.
6. Buy extra pepperonis because Ben will eat a bunch before you can put them on the pizza. As I continue on in my life, which will now invariably involve baking a lot of pizza, I will let you know as I discover more secret pizza baking tips.

Merry Christmas!

12:19PM - Never thought I would say it but...

If your REALLY bored, take a look at http://stoney321.livejournal.com/317176.html.
I never thought anything would make me want to read the Twilight series less.
Other than that, Life moves on. Mol is starting grad school soon, so that is something to look forward to. I am working on my certifications and learning more. I just started digging into Dawn of War 2. It is a different game than what I was expecting, but I like it well enough. I need to plan something for this weekend. I got the house to myself for part of the weekend. Any ideas?
